Candlelit Community Chat: Death, Loss, Grief & the Purpose of Life with Pir Shabda
Join us for an evening of reflection, conversation, and presence at The Pad.
With Pir Shabda & host, Nicole Cronin at The Pad Yoga Studio
I (Nicole) am deeply honored to host an intimate community conversation with Shabda Kahn—internationally renowned spiritual teacher and the father of my late fiancé, Solomon Kahn. Together, we will devote the evening to exploring death, loss, grief, and the greater purpose of life.
Through inquiry and shared presence, Shabda will offer insights drawn from decades of spiritual teaching and a lived wisdom regarding impermanence, love, and transformation. The evening will include time for reflection, listening, and an optional audience Q&A.
This gathering is open to anyone navigating loss—whether recent or long past—as well as those called to deepen their understanding of mortality and what it means to live fully and consciously. Come as you are. We welcome you into this sacred conversation with open hearts and a space held in care.

About the Speakers
Shabda Kahn A direct disciple of the American Sufi Master Murshid Samuel Lewis, Shabda has practiced Sufism since 1969. Since 2001, he has served as the Pir (Spiritual Director) of the Sufi Ruhaniat International. He is also the Spiritual Guide of the Dances of Universal Peace worldwide and a disciple of the 12th Tai Situ Rinpoche. A student of North Indian Classical Vocal Music since 1972, Shabda leads retreats with an emphasis on the mysticism of breath and the opening of the heart, bringing gentleness and humor to the rich lineage of Sufism.
Nicole Cronin Nicole is the co-owner of The Pad Studios. In 2012, a life-altering car accident resulted in the loss of her fiancé, Solomon, and a spinal injury that began a long journey toward physical and spiritual healing. Through her deep study of Eastern philosophy and the guidance of Shabda, she found a path through grief toward rebirth. Fourteen years later, she feels called to share her story more intimately to support others on their own paths of healing and discovery.
